SIPA apprehended 3 individuals for genocide and crimes against humanity

20/12/2017 - Acting upon the orders of the Prosecutor's Office of B&H, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (hereinafter: SIPA) apprehended three individuals on the territory of Han Pijesak and Vlasenica this morning.

Two individuals were apprehended on the grounds for suspicion of having committed a criminal offence „Genocide“, set out in Article 171 of the Criminal Code of B&H and one is suspected of having committed a criminal offence „Crimes against Humanity“, set out in Article 175 of the Criminal Code of B&H, in Tišća (locality Luke), Vlasenica municipality in 1995.

Upon the orders of the Court of BiH, SIPA police officials are conducting searches of premises used by the suspects, with the aim of detection and seazure of assets that may serve as evidence in further proceeedings.

The apprehended individuals will be brought to the official premises of SIPA for criminal processing, after which they will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H for further proceedings.
