In Operation “Brava” 11 Individuals Arrested

On 29 July 2013, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), upon orders by the Cantonal Court in Tuzla, in the operation code-named “Brava”, conducted with members of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior, carried out a number of searches in Tuzla, Lukavac and Živinice, with the aim of collecting evidence in relation with criminal offences of the abuse of official position and illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs.
Within these activities, there 18 searches of premises, including six premises of the Tuzla Correctional Facility, and searches of a number of individuals, whereby items were found and seized which will be used as evidence in further proceedings.
In these activities, 11 individuals were arrested, six of which on grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 238, Paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code of Federation BH “Unauthorised Production and Sale of Narcotic Drugs”, as well as two other individuals, prison guards – police officials, due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 382 of the Criminal Code of Federation BH, “Illegal Interceding”.
Upon criminal and technical processing, the arrested individuals will be handed over to the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor’s Office. Activities within this case will be continued and the public will be duly informed about the outcomes.
