Hayat TV: SIPA – Leading Police Agency in the Country

In the previous period SIPA has been intensively working on prevention, detection and investigation of criminal offences under its competence thus confirming its role of the leading and strongest police agency in B&H and beyond as well as a desirable partner in the international police data exchange and carrying out joint investigations with police agencies from neighbouring and other European countries.

After taking over as Director of SIPA, Director Goran Zubac has announced that the Agency will work on complex cases, with special focus on the fight against terrorism, organised crime, financial crime and corruption and war crimes, and pay special attention to strengthening overall investigative capacities of SIPA and its material and technical strengthening, thus bringing work results to a higher quality level.

A large number of SIPA’s complex operations carried out in the last period bears witness to the fact that Director Zubac has fulfilled what he promised. In the period from 2012 to the first half of 2014, SIPA has carried out 159 operations in which it apprehended a total of 545 individuals in all lines of work.

Council of Ministers B&H adopted a new Ordinance on Internal Organisation and Job Classification of SIPA on 01/10/2014, which the SIPA is especially satisfied with as the adoption of the Ordinance will allow more functional performance of tasks and duties under the Agency’s competence and more efficient dealing with key issues in the fields of terrorism, organised crime, financial crime and corruption and war crimes and other offenses set out in the Criminal Code BH. All this will result in creating a safer environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a duty and main task of SIPA.
