Crimestoppers in June: 219 Calls and 15 Useful Information

In June 2015, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials registered 219 calls to the Crimestoppers hotline.

In this period, citizens submitted 15 useful information about planned or committed criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of criminal intelligence reports was made.

In addition, 29 reports were submitted through an online crime report form available on the SIPA website since February this year, of which nine were useful information about committed or planned criminal offences and perpetrators, based on which the same number of criminal intelligence reports was made. The majority of information referred to illicit trafficking in drugs and weapons. Out of the total number of information received via the Crimestoppers and online crime report form, 25 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to relevant police authorities in BH and SIPA acted upon six of them.

Within this reporting period, 19 pieces of feedback were received from the relevant police authorities related to the information previously received via the Crimestoppers or crime report online form. Based on this information, one report on criminal offences and perpetrators was submitted to the competent Prosecutor’s Offices.

In addition, SIPA police officials gave 105 recommendations to the citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free Crimestoppers telephone number - 080 020 505.
