Citizens Submitted 89 Useful Information to “Crime-Stoppers” in November

In November 2011, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials registered 425 calls and messages to the „Crime-Stoppers“ hotline and web page, out of which 164 were assessed as not serious.
In the aforementioned time period, citizens submitted 89 useful information on planned or committed criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.
The majority of information was related to criminal offences of corruption and abuse of official and other responsible duties (22), illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs (15) and illegal possession and trade in arms (8).
Out of the total number of useful information, 71 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to competent police authorities in B&H, and 18 information were related to criminal offences from SIPA’s competence.
Within this reporting period, 73 pieces of feedback were received from the competent police authorities, based on which it was determined that the competent Prosecutor’s Offices received three reports on committed criminal offence and perpetrators, and one report was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for evaluation.
SIPA’s police officials gave 172 recommendations to the citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free “Crime-Stoppers” telephone number - 080 020 505 and www.krimolovci.ba web page.
