478 Calls to Crime-Stoppers in September

In September 2011, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials received 478 calls to the Crime-Stoppers hotline, out of which 177 were assessed as not serious.
In the aforementioned time period, citizens submitted 82 useful information on committed or planned criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.
The majority of information was related to criminal offences of corruption and abuse of official duty (17), illegal trafficking in weapons (8) and illicit trade in narcotics (7).
Out of the total number of useful information, 71 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded to competent B&H police authorities for further processing, and 11 information were related to criminal offences from SIPA competence.
Within the reporting period, 31 feedback information were received from competent police authorities, based on which it was determined that 1 report on committed criminal offence and perpetrators was submitted to competent Prosecutor’s Offices, and 1 report was submitted for assessment.

SIPA’s police officials gave 219 recommendations to the citizens who called 080 020 505 – Crime-Stoppers hotline.
