Two Persons Arrested and Significant Amount of Arms Seized in Čapljina

Yesterday, October 21st, 2009 - police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) apprehended I.M. i D.D. for grounded suspicion of committing the criminal offence set out in the article 193 of the CC B&H „Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment „ and article 195 of the CC B&H „Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs “.

In this operation, carried out pursuant to the order of the Court of B&H and in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, houses of the apprehended persons as well as a passenger car used by D.D were searched and a significant amount of arms, mine-explosive devices and narcotics were discovered and seized.

In addition, this operation resulted in the seizure of two semi -automatic rifles and four automatic rifles, a 7,9 mm rifle, a „kratez“ rifle, two hand-held rocket launchers (zolja), nine rifle grenades, 12 hand grenades, 12 rifle frames, three kilograms of commercial explosive „amonal“, a significant quantity of rifle cartridges as well as herbal material and seeds resembling Indian hemp seeds.
In the course of investigation lasting several months, which preceded the yesterday’s operation, the SIPA’s police officials seized also six hand-held rocket launchers “zolja”, a RPG hand rocket launcher, two rifle grenades, two cartridges for a rifle grenade, a BRK M 79, two kilograms of TNT, and a 7,65 gun.
After criminal processing at the SIPA's premises, the apprehended persons were handed over to the B&H Prosecutor's Office.
