Ljubuški: About Half a Kilogram of Heroin Found during Searches

This morning (18/5/2016), police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) started a coordinated operation codenamed “Ostrvo” with police officials of Western Herzegovina Canton MoI.

Four individuals identified by initials DV (1980), ZP (1991), AB (1987) and RK (1985) were deprived of liberty due to grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence of organised crime in conjunction with criminal offence of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and three locations were also searched in the area of Ljubuški.

About half a kilogram of heroin, namely over 400 grams of mixed heroin and around 65 grams of heroin of high purity and quality were found during the search of residential and ancillary buildings and courtyard of the individual DV.  

Following criminal processing on SIPA premises, the individuals ZP and AB, according to the instructions of the acting prosecutor, have been released while criminal processing of the individuals DV and RK is still underway and they, along with the report on criminal offence and perpetrators, will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings, tomorrow (19/05/2016).
