Large Quantity of Smuggled Car Parts Discovered in Velika Kladuša Searches

The searches in some locations lasted until late evening hours. A large quantity of smuggled car parts was found in two locations in the area of Velika Kladuša. According to a preliminary estimation, the value of the recovered goods is over 500,000 BAM.

Business records, single customs documents, considerable number of forged blank invoices, stamps, computer equipment, telephones, SIM cards, memory cards and other items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings were found and seized in the searches.    

The activities were carried out upon the orders of the Court and Prosecutor’s Office B&H and in cooperation with the Indirect Taxation Authority and Una-Sana Canton MoI.

Seven individuals were deprived of liberty due to grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence of organised crime in conjunction with criminal offences of tax evasion or fraud, smuggling, organising a group or association for smuggling or distribution of goods on which duties were not paid, abuse of office or authority, accepting gifts and other forms of benefit, giving gifts and other forms of benefit and unauthorised storage of goods. These individuals were suspected of illicit activities during import of second-hand vehicles, spare parts and other goods to B&H.

Following criminal processing on SIPA premises, the arrested individuals have been released based on the instructions of the acting prosecutor and the activities in this case are continuing intensively.
